Vibe Coding Works Best With a Real Product Loop
Vibe coding can make the first version feel fast, but useful software still needs a loop of building, checking, observing, and refining.
Start with a visible outcome
The best prompt is usually tied to something you can inspect: a working route, a button that changes state, or a page that handles a real example. Concrete outcomes make it easier to tell whether the generated code is moving in the right direction.
This keeps the session grounded in product behavior instead of producing a large amount of code with no clear finish line.
Keep the feedback loop short
Make one small change, run the app, and inspect the result before stacking on more requirements. Short loops reveal wrong assumptions while they are still cheap to fix.
The developer remains responsible for deciding whether the behavior is correct, accessible, and appropriate for the user.
- Describe one observable change
- Check the result in the browser or device
- Correct assumptions before adding more scope
Taste still matters
AI can generate options quickly, but it does not replace product judgment. Choosing what to remove, what to simplify, and what deserves polish is still the work that gives a small app its character.
