Designing a Cleaner Website for Apps and Web Tools
A cleaner multi-product website is not about adding more decoration. It is about separating products, apps, trust pages, and writing into routes that are easier to browse.
The homepage should introduce, not overwhelm
Once a site includes several apps, a few web products, articles, and legal pages, the homepage needs to act as a guide instead of trying to contain every detail itself.
That means short summaries, direct links, and enough structure for a visitor to decide where to go next in a few seconds.
Each product deserves its own context
A spreadsheet viewer, a chess clock, a typing site, and an experiments hub are not the same kind of product. They should not all be described with the same generic marketing language.
Giving each area its own page makes the site feel more honest because the content can explain what the product is actually for and who it is meant to help.
- Use the homepage as an overview
- Write specific summaries for each product type
- Support pages should be as visible as product pages
Trust pages are part of the design
About, contact, privacy, terms, and disclaimer pages are not filler. On a small independent website, they are part of the user experience because they answer the questions that product pages do not.
Making those routes visible helps the site look complete, easier to trust, and more prepared for review by users, platforms, and search engines.
